This means a LS engine will probably not drop right into your 72 C10 without some sort of front suspension work. Most common is to switch to some sort of k-member and mustang 2 front suspension system, that will make your swap steer like a modern vehicle as well as ride like one. 25 Ιουλ 2013 · Holley’s LS Retrofit Oil Pan has a 5.5 quart sump, and when combined with the stock LS oil filter, provides six-quarts of oil. Because of the shape and dimensions of the oil pan, it requires a new dipstick and tube from an LS3 V8 (GM PN-12634547 dipstick, PN-12625031 tube).
If you want to be really thorough, you can drain the oil, pull the pan and measure it with water and a visual inspection of how much water you need to reach the dipstick fill level.
23 Απρ 2008 · You have a serious blowby problem if oil is coming out of the dipstick tube. You probably cracked some of the rings, or more likely if it happened suddenly, put a hole in one or more of the pistons. No breather, catch can, or even a vacum pump will correct the problem.
While the oil pan is removed, check the dipstick hole on the right side of the engine below cylinder #6 to assure that there is no plug installed and that the dipstick tube will fit in the hole. IMPORTANT: All gasket surfaces should be free of oil or other foreign material during assembly.
