A Wilton Manors nightclub manager pleaded guilty Monday in the beating death of jazz great Jaco Pastorius. A plea bargain allowed Luc Havan, 26, of Oakland Park, to plead guilty to a reduced charge of manslaughter in return for a sentence of 21 months in prison and five years' probation.
Police said Pastorius began kicking the club's door when he was denied entry, and that Havan, who was the manager, beat him. Havan was charged with second-degree murder but agreed last November to plead guilty to manslaughter and accept a sentence of 21 months in state prison.

14 Δεκ 2007 · Luc Havan was charged with second degree murder but was convicted of the lesser charge of involuntary manslaughter and served 8 months of a 2 year sentence. It’s doubtful that he acted in self-defence believing his life was in danger simply because he is experienced in martial arts.
