I have a 2000 Mazda Millenia S which has either leaky valve guides or leaky seals on the supercharger, causing black smoke at startup. I was considering adding Lukas Oil Stabilizer at my next oil change to reduce some of the smokiness, at least till I can afford to have the seals fixed (expensive).
23 Φεβ 2022 · Superchargers need oil change because the oil serves as a lubricant for its bearings and gears and generally as a coolant to prevent overheating. However, overfilling the gear case causes overheating and seal damage, which can be dangerous.
For normal use, we recommend changing the oil every 12,000 miles. Severe use will require more frequent changes. The standard bottle holds 7 ounces and - depending on the kit - the supercharger takes approximately 5 ounces.
