16 Δεκ 2020 · I have a 2014 Sierra 1500 with a 5.3. It's throwing a DOC P06DA for the oil pressure control solenoid. Instructions are to check ohms at connector X173. Anyone know which connector this is? The only description I can find is "at the front of the engine near the front cover".
26 Οκτ 2024 · October 26, 2024 by David L. Burrus. The GM 5.3 engine is known for issues such as excessive oil consumption, AFM-related lifter failures, and carbon buildup on intake valves, which can affect performance and reliability. Regular maintenance and, in some cases, disabling the AFM system can help mitigate these common problems.
In addition to that, the oiling system incorporates dual-pressure control, which enables very efficient operation at lower rpm and delivers high oil pressure at higher engine speeds. The 5.3L EcoTec3 has aluminum cylinder heads with two valves per cylinder, 59-cc combustion chambers, and straight and rectangular intake ports with a slight twist.
19 Μαΐ 2023 · The most common issues with the Chevy EcoTec3 5.3L engine are high oil usage as a result of the Active Fuel Management (AFM) system, carbon accumulation in direct injection systems, AFM lifter malfunction giving rise to engine misfires, problems with engine performance caused by fuel pressure regulator failure, the chance of coolant loss and ...
9 Μαΐ 2020 · Additionally, the 5.3L engine specifically has common problems with carbon build-up, fuel injector failure, 4WD, fuel level sensors, and lifters caused by AFM. This guide is going to dig into each of the common problems of the 5.3L EcoTec3 and discuss overall engine reliability.
In this article, we’ll explore the causes of Chevy 5.3 low oil pressure and lifter noise, diagnostic steps to identify these issues, solutions to fix them, and tips to prevent them from recurring.
8 Μαρ 2024 · Possible causes for a 5.3L engine to lose oil pressure include a faulty oil pump, clogged oil filter, low oil level, or leaks in the oil system. Regular maintenance is crucial. What are the three most common oil pressure problems?
