In the present study, I offer an alternative to this deficit by analyzing, in intercontextual fashion, both the character of the Gerasene in Luke 8:26–39 and the experiences of prisoners in solitary confinement in the current US supermax prison system.

23 Ιουν 2013 · In the paragraph before today’s text, the disciples are in a boat with Jesus when “a windstorm swept down on the lake,” and the disciples are terrified that they will drown. Jesus awakes and “rebuked the wind and the raging waves, and they ceased” (8:22-25).
13 Ιουν 2016 · As Luke 8 concludes, Jesus sails away even as the folks of the Gerasenes go back home, unchanged. Just the one man is left on the shore waving furiously in gratitude to the man who saved him. He’s got a job to do in telling people the great things God had done for him.
19 Ιουν 2016 · When Jesus calmed the storm and saved all their lives the disciples were shocked and wondered, “Who then is this, that he commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him?” (Luke 8:25). The disciples still were not sure who this man Jesus was.
