Lobectomy is known as the optimal technique for lung cancer. It preserves lung function compared to pneumonectomy and carries a mortality rate of 2–4% [9–11]. Pneumonectomy is indicated when cancer involves proximal bronchi or vascular structures, with a mortality rate of 6–8% [9–11].

After lung cancer surgery. It takes a few weeks for you to recover after your operation. You will be in hospital for about two days and will then need more time to recover once you are home.
Most often, surgeons do a lobectomy procedure for people with lung cancer. This can cure cancer that’s in an early stage, but may be less effective for larger tumors. It takes at least a month to recover from a lobectomy. A minimally invasive lobectomy can provide a faster recovery.
