Luxor Museum Location. An extension built a few years ago to lay a collection of statues found in the ‘Luxor Cachette’. These beautiful sculptures unearthed during the dismantling of a colonnade in Luxor Temple for reconstruction in 1989.
The most recent discovery, and also the most important of the penultimate decade of the twentieth century, was made in the hypostyle hall of Amenhotep III, the builder and founder of the Luxor temple (1403–1365 B.C.), where a collection of rare statues known as the Luxor temple cache was uncovered.

Visitors to the museum are treated to an array of exceptional exhibits, including grave goods from the tomb of the 18th dynasty pharaoh Tutankhamun (KV62). A highlight is the collection of 26 New Kingdom statues, discovered buried in the Luxor statue cache at the nearby Luxor Temple in 1989.
