On master Treasure Trails, digging in the correct spot will cause either three Ancient Wizards (levels 112, 98, 98) in multi-combat to appear, or a level 140 Brassican Mage, which need to be defeated before the next clue scroll or the treasure casket may be dug up.
These clues demand a fairly wide variety of tasks, anything from leading the player to speak with an NPC, searching a designated crate, or directing the player to dig in some fairly obscure location. However, these tasks usually require an additional task in order to complete the clue.

A beginner clue scroll is the lowest difficulty treasure trail, the only clue scroll available to free-to-play players, and the only clue scroll offering free-to-play rewards. An easy clue scroll is a low difficulty treasure trail, with a low reward yield.
