11 Μαΐ 2024 · While specifics vary, the scam typically follows patterns like: You receive an unsolicited call. The number appears to be from Amazon, with area codes matching their customer service lines. A prerecorded message or rep states they’re from Amazon support.
To report a phishing or unsolicited email to Amazon, open a new email and attach the email that you suspect is fake. Send the email to reportascam@amazon.com. Sending the suspicious email as an attachment is the best way for us to track it.
When we notice unusual payment activity on your account, we temporarily place your account on hold. We do it as a security action, so we can review it with you. To regain access to your Amazon account: Check your email or text messages for an “Account on hold” notification from Amazon. Sign in to your Amazon account.
