Put an SSD and 16GB RAM in a 12-year-old 2011 MacBook Pro and pretty much good to go for most web browsing (with Firefox). And, of course, can use hacks to run modern macOS on it too. That said, my newer Macs run circles around it for video editing, photoshop with RAW content, etc. It all depends on the needs.
