On your Mac, use Displays settings to adjust resolution and brightness, and to set display options. Browse through the options below for details about customizing your settings. Note: Not all options described here appear for all displays or Mac models, and some options appear only when your Mac is connected to a display.
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Displays in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.) Drag the Brightness slider to adjust the brightness of your display. Depending on the type of display connected to your Mac, you may also see a Contrast slider that you can use to adjust the display’s contrast.
You can use a light or dark appearance for the menu bar, Dock, windows, and built-in apps on your Mac, or automatically adjust the appearance from light to dark during the day. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Appearance in the sidebar.

7 Ιουλ 2018 · Default brightness is just ‘Automatically adjust brightness’ enabled. The brightness is constantly adjusted based on lighting conditions. If you disable this option, whatever the current brightness is that was automatically chosen is saved as the fixed brightness, so there is no default value.
