Macmillan does run a lottery and it is on their website. Either you spoke to a scammer, or you spoke to someone who gets paid commission for everyone who signs up over the phone and is willing to lie to you to get their cut.

Today the FTC and ten state partners sued the so-called “charity” that lied to donors about helping cancer patients. The FTC says Cancer Recovery Foundation, Inc. (CRFI) was a sham charity that lied to donors about how their donations would be spent.

28 Νοε 2023 · If you have been the victim of a charity scam, call your bank immediately using the number on the back of your bank card and report it to Action Fraud or call the police on 101 if you’re in Scotland.
27 Απρ 2020 · I would like to suggest, Wendy, that to help others that you report the site to your local trading standards office and the Action Fraud office in the hope they can get the site closed and stop others being potentially scammed.
24 Σεπ 2022 · It is a scam….do not click on the link. There are a lot of these messages, some say you have a delivery that you missed, it is awful how people are targeting the vulnerable to get at their money. Be very careful, I never click on any texts or emails that have links in them.
