Primarily used as a ground cover, Thymus serpyllum ‘Magic Carpet’ (Creeping Thyme) is a dwarf, aromatic sub-shrub forming a tight cushion of tiny, rounded, dark green leaves. Blooming profusely from early to mid-summer, it features clusters of tiny, bright magenta-pink flowers.
Creeping Thyme are pretty little mat or carpet forming plants that are idea for use as a groundcover or to fill gaps between stepping stones and pavers. They are also a nice underplanting for rose bushes and small trees such as Japanese maples and serve as a good soil cover in container gardens.
Thymus serpyllum ‘Magic Carpet’ (Creeping Thyme) is a dwarf cultivar with tiny rounded leaves that create cushions of aromatic foliage. It can be tucked into stone walls, containers, and gravel or rock gardens.
A strain that forms perfectly low carpets with foliage and has the sweet fragrance of lemon thyme. Forms masses of pink/purple flowers, and is ideal for along pathways, growing between rocks, or as a ground-cover between shrubs or perennials. Plants withstand a remarkable amount of foot traffic.
