The Land of Oz is a theme park based on L. Frank Baum's Land of Oz books, located in the resort town of Beech Mountain, North Carolina, US. Carolina Caribbean Corporation opened it in 1970 under the guidance of Grover Robbins, who had been successful with Tweetsie Railroad .
Once you are through the Land of Oz you are greeted by characters in original costumes from when the park was open in the 1970s and there is also a museum and a horse of a different color and horse rides.
The Land of Oz on top of Beech Mountain is SO well done, and everything from Dorothy’s house, Professor Marvel, the witch’s legs under the house, Glinda greeting everyone….seemed straight out of the movie!
