The Autumn in Oz event is a series of skits that you watch as you travel from Kansas, through the tornado, and into the Land of Oz. You end up in the Emerald City where your journey ends. This is a family friendly event where folks dress up as characters or sport their Wizard of Oz gear.
The Land of Oz is a theme park based on L. Frank Baum's Land of Oz books, located in the resort town of Beech Mountain, North Carolina, US. Carolina Caribbean Corporation opened it in 1970 under the guidance of Grover Robbins, who had been successful with Tweetsie Railroad .

The Land of Oz, and the Autumn at Oz event in the Fall, is a wonderful, magical experience. It's fun filled, entertaining and you can have photos taken with the cast. There are performances all along the Yellow Brick Road.
The Land of Oz on top of Beech Mountain is SO well done, and everything from Dorothy’s house, Professor Marvel, the witch’s legs under the house, Glinda greeting everyone….seemed straight out of the movie!

Once you are through the Land of Oz you are greeted by characters in original costumes from when the park was open in the 1970s and there is also a museum and a horse of a different color and horse rides. All along the way there a just breathtaking views of the mountains.
