4 ημέρες πριν · The main artery of the lower limb is femoral artery. It is a continuation of the external iliac artery (terminal branch of the abdominal aorta). The external iliac becomes the femoral artery when it crosses under the inguinal ligament and enters the femoral triangle.

The three main arteries which supply the leg and ankle region are all branches of the popliteal artery. They’re the anterior tibial, the posterior tibial, and the peroneal. In the dissection that we’ll see, all the veins have been removed, to simplify the picture.
