I was having the same issue! Found the solution https://www.reddit.com/r/CrackSupport/comments/jl3ijt/cant_get_mods_to_work_sims_4_fitgirl_repack/ - the mods folder and the repack download in separate folders so you just need to put your mods in Document/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods separate from your .exe !
Are there any active torrent links still? The only sims 3 crack I found (also on fitgirl website) was from 2019, so I wasn’t sure if it was going to work, and so did this one instead.

Sims 2 if you want a unique great and more "fun" game less serious. Sims 3 if you want a fully open world with no load screens , you can send like 3 different Sims to 3 different locations and control them Realtime no issue. Other family's also are actively simulated. Sims 4 if you want a heavy step back in many areas from 3 ( no open world).
