4 Μαρ 2019 · When fitting up the handle guard, spacer and the like; use alignment pins so as to make it go together when you are ready to glue and pin the knife. Hidden tang knives are a little more of a challenge, but your chances of making a stellar knife are much improved.
9 Μαρ 2020 · Fitting the Guard. After making sure your tang is not going off to the left or right, go ahead and fit your guard. Take your time! The guard must be at 90 degrees from the center-line of the blade and tang, even if you are making a knife with a slanted guard.
2 Δεκ 1999 · Drill the tang where the pin will go through it and oblong the tang hole so the guard spacers can be tight against the block with no gaps. The pin should have no contact with the tang if all is well. Epoxy will fill around the pin and the tang hole.
3 Φεβ 2019 · The hidden tang knives give you completely other options to design the knife. For example you could better fit a guard. And when the full tang knife ages and the wood moves the scales might form a gap between the wood and the tang – something that cannot happen when the wood is all around the tang.
