The southernmost point of the Cape Lookout National Seashore is one of the best spots you could look for shells along the Outer Banks. Due to its location near the Gulf Stream Current, Labrador Current, nor’easters, hurricanes, and remoteness, this is a wonderful spot to find seashells.
Some of the best places to find shells in the Outer Banks include Shackleford Banks, Sea Isle Beach, and Cape Lookout National Seashore. At Shackleford Banks, you might spot some wild horses while searching for shells. In Emerald Isle, try the south end of the island at “the point” or Bear Island.
