General introduction. MSC Standards and Certification Requirements. With experts and following international consultation with stakeholders, the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) has developed standards for sustainable fishing and seafood traceability.

The FCP consists the assessment process (Sections 1-8) and process annexes (PA-PF).
MSC certification uses science-based criteria to confirm that seafood products come from well-managed, sustainable fisheries. Together, MSC certified fisheries and those in full assessment represent more than 10 percent of the annual global harvest of wild-capture fisheries.
