27 Οκτ 2013 · I have removed the barrel from my Model 60 and successfully reinstalled it but I don't recommend it. As others have said, there is no need to do so. I was stripping the gun down to sell for parts then I had a change of heart and reasembled it.
5 Μαρ 2007 · I'm thinking of cutting my barrel down a couple of inches and would like to know what's involved in removing the barrel from a mod 60. I see the pin through the receiver and barrel and a pin through the magazine tube band. Are these the only things to remove to get the barrel out?

To remove the barrel, there is a cross pin at the front of the receiver that has to be driven out, then the barrel can be extracted from the receiver. The barrel might be fairly tight in the receiver, and take some persuasion to get apart. The second issue is finding a replacement barrel.
6 Μαρ 2019 · I just came across this and wanted to give a tip I use when removing/installing a barrel on a 60. To remove I have 2x2 about 2 foot long. On one end near the end I drill a hole barely larger than the diameter of the fattest part of the barrel.
10 Δεκ 2005 · How do you remove the barrel on a Marlin rimfire of modern type? They are held in with a single pin, but do i press it out, punch it out or drill it out? Proudly own: 983 22mag, 981 22LR, Glenfiled Mod 15, 917 Mach 2, 70 HC, Model 60, Golden 39-A, and a couple others.
