9 Μαρ 2024 · To get a marriage license in New York, both parties must appear in person at a city or town clerk’s office. Both of you must bring proof of ID like your Social Security Number, birth certificate, and driver’s license, as well as documentation of previous marriages. You will also need to provide your parent’s birth names and country of birth.
12 Οκτ 2024 · The acknowledgment or proof, if taken in the manner prescribed by such state, District of Columbia, territory, possession, dependency, or other place, must be accompanied by a certificate to the effect that it conforms with such laws.

A couple who intends to be married in New York State must apply in person for a marriage license to any town or city clerk in the state. The application for a license must be signed by both applicants in the presence of the town or city clerk. A representative cannot apply for the license on behalf of the applicant.
