Welcome to the Maryland Division of Unemployment Insurance BEACON Application. If you are an existing employer accessing BEACON for the first time, you will need to first activate your account. If you are a new employer and need to set up your account, you will need to start by registering your account.
The online BEACON unemployment insurance (UI) system integrates all benefits, appeals, and tax functions. Employers can use BEACON to complete several UI tasks, 24/7, including: Submit required reports and information; Update account information (address, contact, ownership, etc.); Access their tax rate and other UI-related information;
With BEACON, employers and third-party agents can complete several tasks in one central location online, such as submitting wage reports, paying contributions, filing appeals, and accessing their tax rates.
BEACON is the Maryland Division of Unemployment Insurance’s online unemployment insurance (UI) system. BEACON integrates all benefits, appeals, and tax functions, allowing claimants, employers, and third party agents to complete several UI tasks online.
Using BEACON, you will be able to file a claim for unemployment insurance (UI) benefits. You can also use BEACON to request your benefit payments each week by filing a Weekly Certification. Unemployment insurance claimants must actively search for work to maintain their eligibility for benefits.
BEACON integrates all benefits, appeals, and tax functions of the unemployment insurance system. An employer or agent who has not already done so should activate or register for a BEACON account. Employers can activate or register for their accounts on the BEACON employer login webpage.
