19 Ιουν 2019 · Pillen Family Farms has agreed to purchase 16,000 sows along with the associated nursery and finishing farms in eastern Nebraska from The Maschhoffs. Also as part of the purchase, Pillen Family Farms acquired a truck wash in Columbus, Neb., and a number of contract finishing farms.
16 Σεπ 2017 · Ken Maschhoff and his team have built a pork dynasty from the family farm headquarters outside Carlyle, Illinois. In the past 20 years, Maschhoff, 57, has grown the operation from 8,000 sows to 218,000, climbing the annual Pork Powerhouses® ranking of largest U.S. producers rapidly.
They expanded the sow herd from 150 to 700 in 1979 and continued to grow throughout the 1980s. In 1996, they collaborated with family farmers to raise wean pigs, further expanding the business. Today, The Maschhoffs operates with more than 130,000 sows across five states.
