On May 18, 2023, the U.S. Census Bureau released updated population estimates for Massachusetts cities and towns (also called “minor civil divisions” or “MCDs”) for July 1, 2022. This new vintage of estimates is derived from the allocation of the Census Bureau’s 2022 county-level population estimates, released on March 30, 2023,
This page features files containing county population totals and components of change for years 2020 to 2023. For the most recent data available, please refer to the Vintage 2023 data. Vintage 2023 is the most recent completed vintage and consistent set of estimates.
Table 1 below shows county population estimates, change, and rankings for the July 1, 2018 and July 1, 2019 estimates years, while the following map (Figure 2) displays the annual percent change. 7 Απρ 2022 · According to the new county-level population estimates released by the U.S. Census Bureau, the greatest numerical increases in Massachusetts counties from July 1, 2020 to July 1, 2021 were seen in Barnstable County at 3,442 net persons gained; Plymouth at 2,024; and Bristol at 992.
On March 23, 2017, the U.S. Census Bureau released population estimates for July 1, 2010 through July 1, 2016 for Massachusetts and U.S. counties. These estimates are based on the demographic components of change since Census 2010, including births and deaths, domestic and international migration, and the group quarters population for each county.
