The MSAT is an accredited program by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). This 24-month, year-round program is designed to exceed the CAATE standards. It provides instruction, clinical, and research experiences to prepare students to become certified athletic trainers.
C. Master of Science in Athletic Training Degree Requirements Once accepted into the Athletic Training Education Program students are required to complete a five semester education program.

The current minimum entry point into the profession of athletic training is at the master’s level. Upon completion of a CAATE-accredited athletic training education program, students become eligible for national certification by successfully completing the Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC) examination.
