  5. FYI, AFAIK CS 124 is a hard prerequisite for CS 173: https://courses.illinois.edu/schedule/2022/fall/CS/173. So I don't think you can take them concurrently. You can take the CS 124 proficiency and bypass the course that way, which would mean you could start in CS 128 and CS 173.

  6. Topics for this course include operations on sets, counting principles, permutations and combinations, linear equations, mathematical probability, matrices, mathematics of finance and some hands on probability distributions such as normal and exponential distributions.
