As part of the first steps, students need to complete the English Self Guided Survey or provide an alternative method of placement. For Math, students are able to enroll in the open enrollment courses MATH 104b, MATH 116, MATH 120E, MATH 124E, or MATH 126 E without taking a placement test.
The math on the CSN ALEKS placement test covers Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry. Make sure your preparation only includes the topics on the test - nothing more and nothing less. The best test prep courses emphasize efficiency.
The test is designed to assess the necessary academic skills in the subjects of Reading (45 questions for 55 mins.), Math (38 questions for 57 mins.), Science (50 questions for 60 mins.), and English and Language Usage (37 questions for 37 mins.).
