John 6:28-29 (NIV) Our verses for today demonstrate the willingness of the crowd to know and to do their duty regarding the requirements of God. They were totally convinced this “everlasting food” Jesus had spoken of would be theirs at the completion of such works.
(John 6:28-29) Jesus answers their second question: What shall we do, that we may work the works of God? Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”
In the following verses, Jesus will begin a memorable explanation of the right way to pray with the words, “ In this manner, therefore pray.”. Jesus then gave His disciples a model for prayer, prayer marked by close relationship, reverence, submission, and trust and dependence.

I. Christ having told them that they must work for the meat he spoke of, must labour for it, they enquire what work they must do, and he answers them, v. 28, 29. 1. Their enquiry was pertinent enough (v. 28): What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?
