19 Ιουν 2010 · This rifle is showing signs of excellent accuracy. The first 4 5-shot groups I shot were .250,.267,.586,.526, Using 44.5gr of Varget behind a 168gr Hornady A-Max. Needless to say I'm am addicted to building Savage rifles.</div></div>
12 Δεκ 2020 · I have a McGowen barrel in a 22 x47 Lapua that shoots a wide range of bullets very well. Best group has been 5/8" 3 shot group at 750 yards. Just put one on an AR-15 and it shoots a one hole group time after time.
30 Σεπ 2022 · I have a McGowen 260 barrel on a Rem 700 right now and have had 2 on XP-100s in the past. I have yet to find a load the 260 doesn't like. That being said, I am not looking for BR accuracy, but everything from 120s to 143s have shot below or just over 1". The XPs also shot great.

28 Σεπ 2010 · Barrels from McGowen are currently all button rifled, but starting in 2011 cut rifled barrels will become a standard offering as well. Calibers and twists already cover an impressive range from .17 to .50 caliber in a wide variety of twist rates, all displayed on the company website.
21 Αυγ 2020 · I haven't shot the .223 because I can't find any .223 headspace gauges, but the .260 AI shoots fine. With Bergers I was trending averages around ~.6", ~.8" with cheap Hornady 140s. Cut rifle barrels will be better, but then again, those are cut rifle barrels, McGowen is buttoned.
