30 Μαΐ 2019 · I rarely "deep clean" a barrel unless accuracy fall offs before expected barrel life. Usually do a cabron cleaner around 1000 rounds but it change depending on powder. Example: carbon builds up faster with RL16 and StaBall 6.5 vs H4360 in a 6.5cm.
12 Δεκ 2020 · I have heard a mix bag of reviews on the McGowen barrels. I ordered one last year simply because of the lead times on when I needed it. I have been able to work up loads in that 3/4 MOA range without a ton of trouble. My question is, are the Shilen, Benchmark, Brux etc. that much better than the McGowen? Will it be that noticeable of a difference?
1 Ιουν 2008 · I shot this group from the prone w/ bipod and squeeze bag support, in the grass/ gravel behind the 100 yd walkway on our range at work. The rifle is a Savage 116SS action, the McGowen barrel, B&C Duramaxx stock (bedded), Nikon BM 4.5-14x42 SFMD, and Harris bipod.
14 Μαρ 2015 · Take a look at the rifle shown in this post, a factory Remington 700 action with no accuracy work, HS3 chassis system and a Remage barrel- all screwed and bolted together. This is without machine work or bedding.
25 Νοε 2014 · Perhaps you can find a gunsmith fitting McGowen barrels to actions that will guarantee the precision you desire. Custom rifle gunsmith's using Krieger, Bartlein, Brux, and Lilja barrels will commonly guarantee that their completed rifles will shoot 1/2moa 3-shot groups.
9 Μαΐ 2021 · I've got a CarbonSix barrel on my 7 STW, which is a McGowen blank that is carbon wrapped. It shoots tiny groups. Put together a Remage 280AI with a Criterion barrel.
16 Αυγ 2011 · On my admittedly less than totally accurate dial scale the 16.5" fluted barrel weighed approximately 2.5 lbs as compared to the 3.5 lbs the factory target barrel weighed. The balance in my stock with the sightmark red dot feels good.
