30 Μαΐ 2019 · This McGowen barreled R700 will do this as consistently as the shooter can keep it together. It has shot several 5 shot one hole groups and sometimes it puts 5 in the .4s but it is a good shooting rifle for the money I have in it. It's a consistently accurate sub 1/2 MOA rifle to 1000 yds.
19 Ιουν 2010 · Re: McGowen Barrels - Are they any good? I have two McGowen Barrel. Both are very accurate. Easy breakin, very little copper during breakin. I have a friend who bought a Centurion, it's accurate, but it's taking a long time to get rid of the copper.
12 Δεκ 2020 · I have heard a mix bag of reviews on the McGowen barrels. I ordered one last year simply because of the lead times on when I needed it. I have been able to work up loads in that 3/4 MOA range without a ton of trouble. My question is, are the Shilen, Benchmark, Brux etc. that much better than the McGowen? Will it be that noticeable of a difference?
30 Σεπ 2022 · I have a McGowen 260 barrel on a Rem 700 right now and have had 2 on XP-100s in the past. I have yet to find a load the 260 doesn't like. That being said, I am not looking for BR accuracy, but everything from 120s to 143s have shot below or just over 1". The XPs also shot great.
9 Μαΐ 2021 · I've got a CarbonSix barrel on my 7 STW, which is a McGowen blank that is carbon wrapped. It shoots tiny groups. Put together a Remage 280AI with a Criterion barrel.
9 Δεκ 2018 · Just got one in 308, 26 inch. 50 rounds through the barrel and its sub MOA without much load development. Using the loads I had from my factory 308 it's about 100fps faster. The estimate was 10 weeks, took more like 15, but that's just fine by me with the market as it is. T.
