9 Δεκ 2018 · #1. I've gotten two pre-fit build-to-order barrels from McGowen ... the 6.5-CM screwed on and Go/NoGo were perfect ... shoots better than new in my Tikka T3x TAC A1.
30 Σεπ 2022 · take a look at what the pros use for prs, or what the top gunsmiths/custom builders in the country are spinning up, and you'll find zero mention of mcgowen. IMO, they're a replacement barrel, like a pacnor, not a custom barrel like a bartlien, kreiger, lilja, etc.
12 Δεκ 2020 · I have heard a mix bag of reviews on the McGowen barrels. I ordered one last year simply because of the lead times on when I needed it. I have been able to work up loads in that 3/4 MOA range without a ton of trouble. My question is, are the Shilen, Benchmark, Brux etc. that much better than the McGowen? Will it be that noticeable of a difference?
1 Μαρ 2016 · I am currently running a .260AI McGowen prefit on my Savage Match rifle and it is by far the most accurate barrel I own. This thing shoots fantastic and has put me at the top or second place in all of our local matches over the last couple years.
16 Αυγ 2011 · I have two 24 inch Mcgowen 10/22 barrel. I used them on a couple tactical builds. They shoot great. I have not shot alot of match ammo in them, however, i have been able to get some 1/2 groups with them. The barrels are match grade with bentz chambers. John
23 Νοε 2010 · A contoured McGowan CM barrel is $185, the same Shilen barrel is $200 and from Krieger is $285. Spend the extra money and you don't have to worry about getting a bad one. I've had very good results with Shilen barrels and no one (or not many) have ever had a bad barrel from Krieger.
21 Αυγ 2020 · I have a mcgowan on my 300wm. As others have said, reviews show that mcgowen in the past was hit or miss on quality. If i remember my research correctly, i had found an ownership change sometime around 2010-2014. My order was in 2017. Got the barrel screwed on using their barrel nut and it shoots great. 1.
