11 Φεβ 2005 · I've managed to find a pretty good selection of E and G cockpit shots. But, I haven't found any good shots of an F 'pit that show the side wall or instrument panel details. Any and all info welcome!
A three-cannon Me109 fired about 75 rounds per second, while a six-gun P-51 fired 84. The under-wing pods dragged the Gustav down to just 380 mph in level flight, but pilots were more averse to the effect on maneuverability and climb.
22 Μαρ 2024 · One Royal Air Force (RAF) pilot described a Spitfire he was flying alongside being subjected to a Me 109's cannon fire: "The cockpit blew up. You could see the canopy disappear and presumably the bloke as well because there was such an explosion" (Holland, 684).
