1 Σεπ 2021 · Has anyone installed real baffles in their MEC bottles or purchased new bottle with baffles ? The better reloaders come with baffles and mechanical single spring seals. The powder metering on the MEC leaves a lot to be desired and doesn't come with either.
17 Νοε 2012 · I've used the metal Multi-Scale powder baffle on a Mec Sizemaster. I don't use it anymore because I mostly use Hodgdon Clays and International Clays powders and it doesn't seem to help with metering consistency, and may even hurt it a bit.
1 Δεκ 2023 · I don't experience powder leakage from the top of my bar, so I use the baffle as intended to help provide consistent drops. I load a variety of different sized flakes of powder, including International, 20/28, Longshot, and 300-MP, and my drops are very consistent.
8 Ιουλ 2022 · I use the metal powder baffle on all my loaders for the specific purpose of throwing a consistent powder charge, not to prevent powder leakage. When loading hulls for competition, I test weigh every 50 or 100 loads, depending on whether it is flake powder (every 50) or ball powder (every 100).
30 Οκτ 2019 · I have a Mec 600 jr reloading press and want to add a powder baffle. There are two types of baffle, one made of metal and one made of plastic. Is one better than the other or does it make a difference?
20 Μαρ 2009 · MEC 9000G -- Still a piece of junk. I made the changes recommended by JBMI, which include not tightening the powder and shot bottles too much, and using the aftermarket powder baffle. This helped significantly, but the press is still not reliable.
3 Φεβ 2022 · Does anybody know if the Red PC Powder Baffle for a MEC is available anywhere? I thought I'd give it a try to see if I can get my powder drops a little more consistent, but they seem to be either out-of-stock and/or discontinued.
