As a peer mentor, you can make a meaningful difference for your peers who are closer to your age by supporting them academically and emotionally. A mentor can make a difference just by being there. A mentor can transform the life of a child, and in doing so, transform the world.
Demonstrate a commitment to the core principles of Vital Voices’ Leadership Model. Innovative, collaborative, and driven by a clear sense of mission, mentees are deeply engaged in their communities and are committed to advancing the status of women and girls and supporting women’s economic empowerment in their region.
The LACMC Mentorship Program is structured around one-on-one relationships between mentees and seasoned leaders serving in all areas of County service. The mentoring partnership is a twelve-month commitment, where mentors and mentees agree to meet a minimum of once a month over the calendar year.
This grant will support LATM's e-Works virtual youth mentoring program, benefitting 800 at-risk mentees (ages 11-14) in Los Angeles County. In e-Works, youth are connected with a team of 3 volunteer mentors, 10 - 12 peers, and 1 experienced staff member.
Concerned Black Men of Los Angeles is one of eleven mentor organizations in Los Angeles County selected to participate in the Los Angeles Clippers’ Mentorship Assist Zone program. This program places a special emphasis on serving young men of color in underserved communities.
