1 Μαρ 2015 · Mentoring programs have been introduced into academic libraries to facilitate the socialization of new librarians into the profession, assist them in obtaining tenure and promotion, and promote the development of teaching and research skills (Mavrinac, 2005, Nankivell and Shoolbred, 1997).
The ALCTS Mentoring Program aims to develop strong leadership in areas of librarianship covered by ALCTS; support members in developing their professional skills; cultivate leadership and involvement in ALCTS; provide networking opportunities, and expand members’ professional learning circles.
