What is the Mentored Youth Hunting Program? The Mentored Youth Hunting Program is a set of rules and a package license that allows hunters under 10 years old to hunt under adult supervision.
14 Νοε 2022 · The Mentored Youth Hunting program is designed to introduce youth under the age of 10 to hunting and fishing, offering a “package” license for just $7.50. This enables youth hunters under the age of 10 to hunt turkey (spring and fall on private or public land), deer (one tag, any deer) and small game, trap furbearers and fish for all species.
21 Ιουλ 2011 · Highlights of the program are: • Establish a $7.50 mentored youth hunting license for Michigan residents younger than 10. The licensee may hunt with a mentor age 21 or over. This applies for deer, small game, spring and fall turkey, and fur bearers. It also includes fishing. • Lower the age to 10 for other discounted hunting license fees.
Learn to Hunt is part of the turkey federation’s Recruit, Retain and Reactivate (R3) outreach program and puts would-be hunters in contact with mentors who can guide them through the hunting process.
23 Μαΐ 2024 · House Bill 5737, sponsored by Rep. Aiyash (D-Hamtramck) with bipartisan support expands Michigan’s successful mentored youth hunting program to include children and adults with special needs, that are incapable of passing a written hunters safety test but can perform hunting tasks under the direct supervision of a hunting mentor.
1 Σεπ 2012 · A change in Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) policy did away with minimum age requirements for first-time hunters and replaced it with a “Mentored Youth Hunter Program,” which allows youngsters to hunt under the tutelage of an experienced, licensed, adult sportsman.
