Mentoring is a great way to help someone else grow in their Christian faith. Learn how you can invest in and benefit from a mentoring relationship.
A Christian mentor is a Jesus follower who helps others follow Jesus in a one-on-one setting. They regularly spend time with their mentee (the person they mentor), sharing stories, teaching, and encouraging their spiritual growth. Christian mentors also often spend time praying and reading the Bible with their mentees.

Spiritual mentoring, in order to be totally effective, must be wholistic. The following six steps will help us discover the biblical way of wholistic spiritual mentoring: Pray for them. Jesus prays and intercedes for us (John 17:20; Rom. 8:34; Heb. 7:25). The apostle Paul prayed for his mentees (1 Thess. 1:2, 3; 3:10–13).

The basic premise of mentoring is to show mentees not just how to do something but also how to be something. Hopefully, during the mentoring season, mentees will have seen some of Jesus in their mentor and be well down the road toward replicating it in their lives.
