The Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) is developing a parolee mentoring program, pursuant to the 2019-2022 Strategic Plan, Goal 7, Objective 7.1 – “Establish a Mentoring Program for Parolees”:

30 Ιουλ 2024 · We invite you to become a Walk a Mile mentor and help change the lives of individuals, their families, and their communities for the better. If you are interested in volunteering as a mentor in the Walk a Mile mentoring program, please email or call the MDOC Mentor Coordinator, Tony Mills, at 517-230-2670.
Online Training Provided. The main objectives of the mentoring program will be to reduce recidivism, reduce abscond rates, reduce technical violations, and reduce drug/alcohol use and/or relapse. FOR MORE INFORMATION. CONTACT TONY MILLS MILLSA13@MICHIGAN.GOV.
Our mentees come from countless agencies like our local county jail, Blue Water Recovery Center, as well as our many half-way houses in the area. Our intent is to come alongside those in recovery and serve as encouragers, role models and friends.
