University Mentorship is a voluntary, selective program for first-year students which means students must apply to the program and be selected. Incoming, enrolled first-year students are eligible to apply online and will receive an email inviting them to apply.
Mentor Collective's online platform provides training and resources for student mentors and makes it easy for mentors and mentees to connect. All matches are made based on common interests, background, academics and professional aspirations.
The University Mentorship Program is a non-residential Learning Community at the University of Michigan designed to connect new first-year students with volunteer mentors who are knowledgeable about the university in order to ease the students’ transitions from high school to college.
Mentorship is designed to help you expand your network with and beyond your assigned group. We sponsor large activities and encourage all participants to attend. These program-wide events provide you with a chance to meet other mentees, peer mentors and Faculty/Staff/Graduate Student (FSG) Mentors.

The MEPO Mentoring program targets incoming first-year students who are participants of the Michigan Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (M-STEM) Academy. However, we have opportunities for other first-year and second-year students to join the program.
