The cornerstone MentorSHPE program is a three-month mentoring connection focusing on two to five goals. Mentoring matches will work together to define expectations, determine goals and a corresponding action plan, and outline milestones to track progress. Mentees can select mentors based on alignment of goals, specific needs, or characteristics.
The two student-journalists were already friends before becoming Times Corps mentees. They’ve traveled to the Texas-Mexico border for a reporting class, visited Times Square for the university’s centennial coverage in The Daily Toreador and regularly spend time reporting together.
