If you’re coming from St. Louis, the easiest way to get to Meramec State Park is by taking Interstate 44 (I-44) west towards Springfield.
Meramec State Park is a public recreation area located near Sullivan, Missouri, about 60 miles from St. Louis, along the Meramec River. [4] . The park has diverse ecosystems such as hardwood forests and glades. There are over 40 caves located throughout the park, the bedrock is dolomite. The most famous is Fisher Cave, located near the campgrounds.
Directions: From I-44: Take exit #266/Hwy 185 at the town of Sullivan, and travel south on Hwy 185 for 3 miles. The park's entrance is on the right. Located along the scenic Meramec River in east-central Missouri, Meramec State Park and the surrounding area has been a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts since it became a state park in 1927.
