Abstract. Metatarsalgia is a common foot disease with a multitude of causes. Proper identification of underlying diseases is mandatory to formulate an adequate treatment. Multiple surgical solutions are available to treat metatarsalgia. Only limited scientific evidence is available in the literature.
Because of the various causes of metatarsalgia, there is the need to thoroughly consider the etiology of metatarsalgia to find novel, efective, and conservative treatments for metatarsalgia to avoid surgical treatment.
