This landfill will produce methane gas for an estimated 40 years. The gas processing plant can handle flow rates up to 4,500 scfm (Standard Cubic Feet per Minute), with expansion of up to 6,900 scfm. This resource would otherwise have been vented to the atmosphere.
17 Φεβ 2021 · Plans have been approved for a new renewable natural gas (RNG) plant in Illinois, US. On 10 February, officials in Will County, Illinois approved the construction of a $45 million (€37 million) RNG plant at the county-owned Prairie View landfill.
Will County built a RNG facility at Prairie View Landfill in 2022 to generate revenue from the methane gas while also displacing fossil fuels with a renewable fuel that greatly reduces pollution from diesel.
