19 Σεπ 2022 · Diffusion combustion of methane over a hydrate layer can be attributed to less energetically efficient processes: the gas burns over the hydrate, and the combustion heat is partially returned from the flame to the layer, enabling further decomposition of the hydrate and the release of methane.
