The below charts show all the possible thread size combinations of diameters/pitch as defined in ISO-261 MC – Metric Coarse Thread Series MF – Metric Fine Thread Series
ISO 724 specifies basic dimensions of metric threads in accordance with ISO 261. Dimensions refer to the basic profile in accordance with ISO 68. The pitch varies from coarse to extra fine with up to 5 different pitches for some dimensions. The thread angle is 60 o and the thread depth is 0.614 x pitch.
For example, an M12x1.75 (coarse) thread has a 1.75mm pitch, while an M12x1.50 (fine) thread has a 1.50mm pitch. Both DIN and ISO standards for metric threads ignore the pitch callout on coarse threads.

For example: an M2 metric thread means that the diameter “d” is 2 mm and the thread pitch is standard, which in this case is 0.4. However, in addition to the above, there are also metric fine threads that have an additional designation.
