26 Σεπ 2007 · I think this is an excellent point: some are more interested in the power propelling the bike (PowerTap) and some are more interested in the power generated by the body (MetriGear, Quarq, SRM, BrimBrothers). For a bike power-speed modeling standpoint, the PowerTap type number is more interesting.
At first glance, this thing looks amazing – power meter integrated into the axles of Speedplay pedals. Sounds like both pedals so you could theortically get power readings for each leg independently? I wonder if you could apply this to other pedal technologies too?

I was always interested in the development of Metrigears new power meters as they are situated in the pedals. But was a little cautious being a new product...

This pretty much means that their (Metrigear) funding for R&D is muuuuch bigger and they will release their Vector Power Meter pedal system MUCH sooner@@#!@#!!!!! Yippeeee!!!!!! Here, you'll find a community of riders who use power meters like Power2Max, Garmin Vector, Quarq, PowerTap, Stages, SRM (Schoberer Rad Messtechnik), Pioneer, Rotor, Verve, 4iiii, Wahoo, Assioma, Favero, Infocrank, ROTOR 2INpower, PowerPod, Elite, iBike, Powertap P1, VISION, and more.
I love my cheapie wired Powertap Comp as power units go, but being limited to one wheelset is not so nice. The portability of the Metrigear unit is what really appeals. I was going to get a Quarq if they *ever* come back in stock, but have held off until this unit hits the shelves.
