Under this program, people with disabili ties may travel on Metrobus and Metrorail for half the regular (rush hour) fare at all times. People with disabilities who can use the accessible bus and rail public transportation. See page four for guidance on submitting the completed application. The minimum age to apply for this program is 5 years old.
Visitors to the Washington, DC metropolitan area who are unable to use the accessible Metrorail, Metrobus or other local bus service because of their disabilities, are eligible to use MetroAccess service for 21 days in a rolling 365 day period.
Metro offers reduced fare for people with disabilities who require accessibility features to use public transportation and who have a valid Metro Disability ID. The Metro Disability ID card offers a discount of half the peak fare on Metrorail, and a reduced fare of for 90¢ cash, or 80¢ paying with a SmarTrip® card on regular

MetroAccess is a shared-ride, door-to-door, paratransit service for people whose disability prevents them from using bus or rail. MetroAccess fares are two times the fastest comparable fixed-route fare, with a maximum fare of $6.50.
Be unable to travel to or from a bus stop or metro station due to a disability. To determine if you are eligible to use MetroAccess, you must complete an application and have it certified by a health care professional.
