The Metro Disability ID card offers a discount of half the peak fare on Metrorail, and a reduced fare of for 90¢ cash, or 80¢ paying with a SmarTrip® card on regular Metrobus routes, and a discounted fare on other participating bus service providers.
Visitors to the Washington, DC metropolitan area who are unable to use the accessible Metrorail, Metrobus or other local bus service because of their disabilities, are eligible to use MetroAccess service for 21 days in a rolling 365 day period.
Reduced Fare Program for People with Disabilities – Eligible people with disabilities travel on accessible Metrobus and Metrorail for half the regular (rush hour) fare at all times. This program is available for people with disabilities who need to use accessible bus and rail public transportation.
Metro custoners who are age 65 years and older automatically qualify for reduced fares whether or not they have a disability. Senior citizens can purchase a Senior SmarTrip card by showing a valid photo ID with proof of age at any Metro sales office, commuter store, or other selected retail outlet.
18 Μαρ 2022 · All of Metro’s vehicles are accessible including Metrorail stations, rail cars, and Metrobuses. Metro stations have the following amenities: Reserved parking spaces for vehicles with DMV/MVA handicapped permits or license plates. Directional signage for wheelchair-accessible entrances and elevators.
